Happy Friday friends! Boy has this week flown by for me, work has been extremely busy and cut into full lunch breaks, which is generally my “rush to do a post and frantically power walk back to work late while attempting to not look disheveled” time. I know, so “unprofessional” to blog over lunch, but I can’t be the only one who does it right?
Anyway, my work outfit a few days ago and…. my new haircut!! Seeing my post yesterday definitely makes me miss my long hair. I feel like it just fits my “look” so perfectly and length seems to help the frizz/poof a bit, but oh well, it was still so damaged from putting sun-in spray in it two years ago that it needed to happen (I’m sure everyone but me has long known it’s way worse than dye so I’ll skip the explanation the hair dresser told me).
Banana plants are aplenty in his hometown (Caracas), so Jonny is always amazed to find ones growing here or in other non-tropical climates (with shade and surely lots of water). I find them pretty impressive too though, when I don’t almost break them by pushing on the trunk…. they’re not sturdy, oops.
Outfit details: sweater & skirt- thrifted, old; shoes- Zara 2010 sales; hair clip- handmade in Mexico; embroidered top- handmade in Oaxaca.
I actually absolutely love that at my current job everyone just takes lunch on their own at different times (unless it’s a special occasion) because I love getting outside, breathing in some fresh air, and thawing off a bit (and of course squeezing posts in). Having absolutely nowhere to eat but the office cafeteria last year definitely came to feel stifling, and I couldn’t be more fortunate to have so many nice areas to eat outside at my job, amongst many other positives, including fantastic coworkers/bosses who are great to work with and appreciate my work (and a boss who is pretty much exactly me in 20 years… she knew exactly in which park I shot my photo project AND suggested I look for frames at a thrift store!!). But anyway, if you have a job, how’s it faring out? It’s always easy to get impersonal with blogging but really, I’d love to hear the other side of people’s lives since it is what most of us do with the majority of our time after all.
Ok, hope you enjoy your weekend and take care of yourself! If sitting, don’t forget to sit up straight and take a few short stretch breaks; I’ve been trying to remember both and fortunately it seems to be helping my old lady back a bit : ).
