Dress Swapping

By dusanabotswana On December 13th, 2012

It was already starting to get dark when Jonny and I took these after work last Friday and we were in a rush to get to the library and finish projects so we didn’t get many good shots, but I’m glad we got a few at least. Erica of Sweets and Hearts was kind enough to offer up for swaps this dress, and it was so fun to get compliments on it all day in the office. (You can see her look adorable in it here). Several of us from Flock Together asked to borrow this dress, so I’ll let you all know when the others have styled it as well.

Outfit details: silk blouse- hand-me-down; belt & shoes-thrifted; tights-Target (crappiest tights ever btw); bracelet- hand beaded in Mexico; dress- borrowed from Erica via Flock Together

We’re encouraged to support our local university (which I also attend for grad school) by wearing gold on Fridays at my work, so it’s been a great excuse to wear my mustard tights, which I otherwise would think twice about since we’re supposed to dress in “business” attire. Of course that’s a fine line I teeter over often, as I’m sure you can tell from here, but it certainly was fun to make a fall, semi-office look out of Erica’s dress! Well, I’m off work to get some more studying in today and tomorrow, so I’d best be brief. Hope you all are doing well and studying hard but hanging in there if you’re a student; and if not, be glad you’re not right now!

P.S. If you’d like to see the ways other girls style this dress and a couple others I’ve posted here, here, and here (to name a few) just follow the Flock Together Facebook and/or Twitter : ).

thx

I love this dress! Very gorgeous paired with that shirt. Also, that bracelet is breath-taking! Love homemade jewelry like that.

I love this dress on you! The collar on collar is so cute, and I’m really loving it with the yellow tights. Have I ever told you that my brother goes to ASU? I’ve been trying to visit him for forever, hopefully I can soon and we can meet up!

Interesting to see this dress “winterized” so to speak! All the remixes are so fun.

This is more professional than the multitude of cat items and bright tights I suppose I wear to my place of business! I think it looks great – And I love the red adn gold.

This dress is so freaking cute- no wonder everyone wants to swap it! :) Have you had a problem with the Target tights? I guess I’ve had good luck, or maybe they’re just better than the F21 ones I have… I love this outfit and seems professional to me! But I’ve never worked in an office, so don’t take my word :)

Red and yellow is always one of my go-to color combos. The dress looks perfect on you Dus! And you’ve made it work so well for winter. The blouse underneath is such a cute touch :) xo Marisa
